Welcome to the House of Funmi

Funmi, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, was born in Washington, D.C. Her maternal lineage is full of artists and musicians; no wonder she began playing instruments at the age of seven.  She has a wide-range of musical influences including Gospel, Go-Go, Blues, Jazz, Soul, New Orleans Second-Line, ATL-House, and AfroBeat.  For more than 40 years Funmi has performed throughout the country in various venues with numerous artists.  She has lived in D.C., Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, Columbus, OH and currently she's back in the "A".

Funmi enjoys collaborating with local artists in the studio and on stage.  You may find her at a coffeehouse, an art gallery, a festival, and even on the Beltline.   Through the years  she has worked with  many groups and organizations in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area such as Atlanta Brass Connection, The Common Ground Collective, Ile Ori African Culture Center, The Launch Pad, and Ron Clark Academy. Currently, Funmi is working on a new project of her original work.  Stay tuned for release date.
